I'm after an Owl. But I just can't get him where I need him.
So anyway , before I took my stand and sat in the woods all afternoon until dark, I ran across this critter. And since I never shot a bee before, I wanted to try my hand at it.

Thanks for looking.

I'm on the hunt for a barn owl. That Owl you're looking for is going to be damn hard to find. At this point , I'll settle for ANY owl. Or even any bird with some color in it. Like a King Fisher.
I'm soon to put an order in for a SIGMA 50-500, maybe. I want a Nikon D3S so bad it's about to kill me. I need the speed.

And , Thanks dots.

I'm pretty sure shooting owl is illegal.

shooting at wedding or sports events are illegal as well.

Lightspeed, nice image, bees are not always that easy to photograph - I find they fly away on me when I get to close. As for the owl - good luck on that one - I have been looking for one for years and have never been able to find one, except, two years ago I was lucky enough to grab some images of a couple of snowy owls, as they spend their winters on the prairies east of where I live, but in the summer when there are reports of grey owls and other types around - forget it - I have no luck at all. So good luck with your search, I would say "hunt", but folks have said that hunting owls is illegal...

Cheers.

Hey,
Thanks.

Nothing worth while is going to be easy. lol. I have seen quite a few Hoot/Barred Owls, but they are never where I can get a shot on them. ( With a camera)
Usually seen either early in the morning or late in the evening. Usually in the wooded areas behind diffused " low existing natural" light, which is the need for a full frame, with a sensitive sensor, and high (USABLE )ISO capabilities.
Thus the D3S.
LOL I want one bad. With a 600mm lens.
