This is weird...on my drive home just a little bit ago I was thinking about how I should start me a site...I have one that I made way back in high school, but I'm so embarrassed by it that I would never give y'all the URL!

Any suggestions on how and where I can start a small page that I can put a bit of text and some pictures on it? Keep in mind I'm clueless.

Just text and pictures? Nothing else? http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/index.html is ok for that. I think they're full of pop-ups and banners now though.
