G'day all

I'm the King of the Castle ... well for a short while anyway!

I live in an area surrounded by Norfolk Pine trees, very tall trees and much favoured by the birds
I had noticed this cockatoo showing a likening for the topmost bit of several local trees while it sqwarked and showed off its location to its mates. Sadly for the cockatoo, it also drew the attention of a 'thugby-team' of Noisy Miners who dive bombed the cocky until it gave up and departed - to another tree about 200m away

1)- Hey- this looks okay - now to settle in for a while

typical exif- Panny Lumix FZ-200; 1/1000s x F4,0; ISO-100; lens at 24x zoom / 600mm FFequiv -- then heavily cropped ... (images are about 30% of the original 12mpx image)

2)- Where are my mates to see what I'm up to?

3)- Hey - gimme a break! I just got settled

4)- Hey - Leave me alone ya bugga

5)- Ah shoot - I'll try another joint

As always, feedback welcome
Phil

Nice action set! So much for calling dibs on that tree!

Dopey cocky🤣.

If you see one with a ring around his left ankle thats Charlie, can you tell him to come back home. He's basically disappeared from here & I've hardly seen him for many many months.

G'day mate

For a well known 'smart bird' there are times when it does some quite stoopid things (just like us I suppose)
Sqwarking to advertise its top-of-the-tree location here was the main one!

As to Charlie ... well I dunno - I can't see Charlie doing the 2000km / 1400 miles from down your way north up to my back yard, so I guess that you must keep looking :)

To others above ... thanks for your feedback
