They are finally starting on my house on the 11th, 4 months and a day after the storm. There are still over three thousand homeless yet Uncle Sam has deemed our area only needs 400 trailers for emergency shelters. The area, though about 50% cleaned up of fallen trees and yard/house debris looks like the kind of scenes you'd see in a vintage WWII newsreel after a bombing raid. And I say that because 90% of all the tree foliage was stripped off during the storm leaving the area stripped to the bone. Here are before and after shots.
The whole area a few weeks ago. My house is almost dead center at the bottom.
BD, I don't know what to say - WOW or OUCH. Thanks for sharing your images. Those of us who live a long way away, probably have no comprehension of what the damage can be like and is like in these situations. The closest we ever come is an F1 or F3 tornado every few years and even then, most of those are in farm country where damage is minimal.
