Incoming Smoke

With all the brush fires, we have been getting a lot of smoke in the area. I thought this just looked cool

Neither picture is very good. Why did you decide to present these in the portrait format, when landscape seems the way to go? 3/4 of each picture is just plain Jane blue sky with nothing to hold ones interest. When you finally get to the smoke, it could very well be dark clouds. Picture #2 is also very noisy

I would certainly do a re-crop to eliminate more then 50% of the sky in landscape format.
