Thanks everyone for helping me out in deciding which gear to go with. I had my chance yesterday to go at it underwater with my rx100V and a ys-03 strobe. Relatively less powerful, but I'm content with the results from my first dive.
I know I have scope to improve missed a manta ray shot because I couldnt figure out the settings fast enough, give it a few more dives - still learning from my mistakes.

All photos are sooc (did crop) except the eagle ray, I dont have my workstation, but the images were good enough for posting. I'll be in Bali/Gili for another week and a half, more images coming up soon.

Those are very cool. Very bizarre but in a good way.

Excellent shots Raj. Especially that last one. Wow!

Great set of shots, loving the Ray as well.

Thank you all... I think I was being too happy and Karma didnt like it!
My strobe is malfunctioning now, alternating between red and green. Weird, I'm with a full powered new battery. Already missed the strobe in yesterday's night dive and the other 3 dives since then :blue:

Thanks Derrel! Saw 6 Manta Rays today, will post once I can process them. :)

Those are all great! You have come a long way since the days back when you were given that DSLR, there is a book to be written in your life at some point. :)
One of these days I will have to make you take me diving! ;)

Love the eagle ray.

All nice shots. It seems I missed the tail of the Eagle Ray too.

Spotted Eagle Ray
That is very intriguing Alan, is that a film camera?
Love the eagle ray.
Thanks snowbear! :)

Haha.. thanks Gallagher, that DSLR was, and continues to be one of the most cherished memories of my life. It's not the camera, but the efforts of the people that really made the difference for me.
Let me know if you're publishing that book though, I don't mind some royalty! :p

Raj, Yes the Spotted Eagle Ray was taken with an underwater camera - Nikonos IVa. However, the film was Ektachrome converted to BW in post processing after scanning the slide. Alan.
