Is sony good?

So i ended up bying the Sony A300, i chose this one because it has a fast FPS speed, and it has the same qualities of the A350......Thankyou for all of your help guys, you really helped me out here......Im sorry i just realized i forgot to even introduce myself soooo....

Just because the majority use Nikon and Canon doesn't mean that people who buy an Olympus are brainless.

Aside from only 3 focus points and a lens upgrade being rather pricey, I would argue that my E-420 is better than the majority of it's competitors.

But that's when an OM adapter and some old Zuiko glass starts to kick some serious ass!

I would gladly recommend an Olympus to anyone. Especially beginners, they have some of the best quality kit-lenses available.

Not to mention, once 4/3 finds its footing and more lenses become available, I think Olympus will be a lot more successful.

Except that smaller sensors with more pixels = bad high iso performance. Olympus is going the wrong way. Sensor sizes need to get bigger in DSLR cameras, not smaller.

And I hate that arguement for Olympus; the one about they're better for beginners because of the quality of the kit lenses. That's like Apple's "It just works". Sure it just works, as long as you're browsing the internet and reading e-mail, but once you want to start photographing servers at the races, you're going to have some really expensive glass drives to buy.

Canon & Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 IS/VR = $1700ish MSRP. Olympus 35-100 f/2.0(? or 1.8?) = $2100-2200 msrp.

But if has a faster aperture!!! But it needs it since the sensor is so small just to have DoF close to a APS-C sensor camera, not to mention nothing like a full frame sensor.

I have Pentax stuff and absolutely love it- rugged, super user friendly, nice glass, lots of new lenses coming out, and I'm getting a K20 body soon. Sony is dead serious about DSLR's, as evidenced by their awesome new FF camera- huge investment by Sony. They are in it for the long haul. I guess I always go for the underdog in a lot of things to feel "different". I can definitely see how the Olympus 4/3's system could be addicting, as 4/3 makes a much nicer vertical format IMO. I always admired the old Olympus compact 35mm SLR's. And how could you possibly go wrong with world-leading Nikon or Canon?? You couldn't!! The market is flooded with great equipment.
