Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
that I am not alone in the group of forum noobs who received/purchased a new camera during this holiday season. That being said I just wanted to post a few of my first pictures with the camera I received. Canon T1i with standard EF-S 18-55 mm lens.

This is my first foray beyond the world of your basic pocket point and shoot. Even though I'm still reading the book and navigating my way through mainly auto-shoot features only of the camera I already see a great difference in picture quality.

I'm happy with the gift! Here are the first few pictures I have taken. These are taken straight from the camera no PP -- just fun :-)

You may find that DSLR's need sharpening after the photo is taken. Where point and shoots automatically apply a lot of sharpening during the photo capture.

Very true from just a day of playing I can see they will definitely need more PP attention. Hopefully in time (and with a little help of all these great brains around here :D ) I can start to get the images I really want. THANKS!

Most important thing I learned with the Canon T1i .... GET RID OF THE 18-55 !
Simply purchase the EF canon 50mm f1.8 lens for around $100(link). That will be a great cheap big step for you.

Other than that just start going out and shooting, messing around with the WB, ISO , and all the different modes. And read the manual! I know all of these things helped me out a lot when i first started.

Hope this helps,

It does help. Thanks! I'm working my way through the manual bit by bit and hoping to go from there :)
