first time trying this kind of PP and it's pretty subtle... just wondering what you guys think...

Ignoring the bars it looks good! Not quite sure what processing you have done differently, if its subtle then its very subtle (though often that is a good thing). I would say try giving those bar dulled bands a selective contrast boost - It looks good enough that with a bit more contrast (and maybe fiddling with saturation) you would get the bars to vanish

yeah, I hate the fences. I'd rather risk mauling and not have to worry about them!
