Very Nice! I would try to drop some of the angles. Was this all natural light?

Nice work! This brings back memories!

Thanks :)

what do You understand under natural light? Only daylight without any other lamps, or ambient light without flash? When the second one (ambient light without flash) then was it all natural light ;)

The first pic would of been perfect, if it wasn't at that harsh angle, the positioning of the players was perfect, in a few of the pics you were a little too close or zoomed in to get what was really going on, I also practice JiuJitsu and JiuJitsu is a very technical martial art or sport in this case. And to fully understand what is going on, in my opinion all of the combatants need to be shown, or at least most of, although in the last picture you captured emotion well with the close up.

I love JiuJitsu and hope you post up more pics.

Action well caught and framed.
These pictures are sharpened almost to the point of being 'crunchy'.
Even at these small sizes, there are sharpening halos clearly visible.

While you have caught the action very well, the overall brightness and the intrusiveness of the bright uniforms and surroundings takes away from any drama.

Hey Gabe.. all light is "natural".... but there is either ambient / available light (in various colors and frequencies) and there is strobed light (brief pulse of intense light usually very close to sunlight in color). The NATURAL light thing is something that was sort of made up by a certain class of photographer (that mostly don't know how to use flash) under the false impression that it is superior to strobed light (often used as a marketing term). Most constant light would be considered Ambient / available light also... even though it is artificially produced... since it does not change.

OP... some nice shots! The TILT on the first one is excessive... how could you possibly frame that? Framing is good... color seems a bit yellow on the 2nd one (probably because of the purple mat). Keep it up!

Thanks for the constructive critic :)

I like strange angles ;)

The_Traveler You suggest that the images are overexposed? I personally prefer bright images.
