I like the shot, but am kinda disturbed by the sky which I assume was overexposed in the original shot. The white patches in the trees don't work for me. Perhaps you could try with a gradient instead of solid color?
I took the liberty to pp your original a bit. Would you want to see my outcome (in working with it, I decided I better leave the white sky entirely untouched, though, nothing wanted to look right, no matter what I tried).
Here you are. I think I threw the well-feathered lasso tool around the bright parts of the photo (including the background trees in the haze) and made all of that a little darker, and then I lassoed the part of trees on the left and made those brighter and warmer in colour, pretending there was some low sun shining upon those trees from some (unseen) small opening in the clouds. Not sure if this is any good, though...
