Just had a major surgery......

Hi Folks,

Yesterday at 12:30 PM I had a joint replacement in my right foot. It was an outpatient procedure and was sent home. This morning I got up and went to the Adams Wildlife Sanctuary to photograph birds. Was hobbling around in a wooden shoe taking pictures. How does that sound for a hardcore hobbyist?

Wooden shoe, or "walking cast"? I'm sure your doctor wants you to exercise, but I would probably stay on clean, dry surfaces rather than wet vegetation and mud.

Are you sure you can apply pressure to your foot already... but i cannot blame you... nothing will stop you when you have photographers heart... lots of luck for speedy recovery

It's probably not the wisest thing to do. Will keep my foot covered with a plastic wrap, if I go out again.
