I hear ya, I was actually sitting waiting on an otter to come up when this guy flew in and like always I said to myself "oh its another one of those black birds" then he landed and I saw he actually had color...never noticed they actually did.

thanks for the comments, not sure what type of bird this is and yes i agree a more eye pleasing backround would've been nice but its the spring thaw- everything ground/water level looks like this oh well take what you can get I guess.
