Waaaaay too much red in these. Did you shoot in raw or jpeg?

The shots of the guitarist would've benefitted from the entire guitar being in the frame. It's not always possible to do but, in this case, I get the sense that it was.

Also, the first shot of the blonde is one of the most unflattering photos I've seen of someone on stage in a really long time...

Steve, ya I mean I know they are red but that is because all the concert lights were red. Just like 5 big red lights pointed right at the stage. It's a small venue with a cheap light setup so it doesn't change much. I mean I could have pulled as much red out as possible but that wouldn't leave much. I think the better option is to change a bunnch of these to black and white. Gotcha on the guitar thing. As for the singer, I liked the moment and the motion around her face, not really the expression. I know it's a bit of a long shot but it's a rock and roll band so I think the expression is ok. If she was like a celine dion type then no.

I have to agree with Steve. A little tweaking of hue and saturation would help these images substantially. and the image of the singer makes her look more like maybe a male wrestler... I don't think a woman who goes to the trouble to put on mascara wants to look this bad in an image. Let alone a performer. It would have been a discard for me and I never would have posted it publicly.

Oh, yeah. I've been there. I don't think there's a concert shooter alive who hasn't been there...

I mean I could have pulled as much red out as possible but that wouldn't leave much. I think the better option is to change a bunch of these to black and white. .

I've found that converting to black & white can create drama in a shot where it otherwise might not have been or, at least, highlight some drama that you didn't see before converting it.

Small clubs are difficult, at best. For some reason, I think all the lighting guys running the lights in small clubs were absent the day they taught "YOU HAVE MORE COLORS THAN JUST RED" at lighting guy school. It's not limited to clubs, though. I shot Coheed and Cambria a few years ago and, not only were hey using only red lights, the lights being used were all behind the band. Even shooting in raw (which you should be doing at concerts) couldn't save them...

Good lord what the hell is that in #5?

Ha ha alright I'll concede that #5 sucks. I'll also concede that I could have removed at least as much red and possible and de-saturated a bit. Thanks for all the comments.
