Hmmm.. you know, here's my honest take on Breivik's opinions.

I respect that he's feeling the way he does. I respect that he feels a big unfairness in today's society. In some extent, I can understand why he thinks that. Soon we won't officially be a Christian country, and our traditions are losing its value to many Norwegians. I can see how he believes our traditions and old values are being "destroyed". HOWEVER, his method is something I don't respect and never will. I can also see his intentions with his actions. Wanting to put focus on something he believes in, when democratic ways seem impossible due to prejudice and a powerful history. That does not mean that I think he's doing the right thing. I'm merely stating that I really do see his point and why he did it - not that I approve of it in any way.

It's easy for extremists that do such things are looked upon as pathetic, crazy and dangerous. However, I believe Breivik is sane ("tilregneleg"). I believe he's involved with some nationalistic militants, but to which extent I'm not sure. I think he's sane, well aware of his actions, well aware of what was waiting for him if he survived, well aware that his character would be murdered by the media and the people, well aware of that he's be in jail for the rest of his life. Jail doesn't scare him, because, according to his words, he's been living in a jail all his life.

Revolutions cannot start unless the people know the true conditions they live in. Breivik hopes that his attack will make people think, and force the Government to further practice their political standpoints, thus further show the select ones who have realised the conditions in society that we need a change.

This has happened in history before. I think it's an interesting standpoint from Breivik, but his actions are horrible and not "necessary" in any way. Choose then existing democratic ways of making dialogues and open debates - not mass murder.

That's some of my views on the matter. People can openly agree with his political statements, but approving of his actions is a whole other matter.
