Last Night's Sunset Experience

I've been trying to get a photo of this pier with a good sunset for 3-4 years now. Dozens of trips there with failed attempts and uncooperative weather have worn me down. Last night I saw a potential for a good sunset and headed back to the pier to try again.

I got there about an hour before sunset and put the drone up in the air to pass the time. Got these two shots while waiting for the light to come around for my main photos.

The light started to look dull and gray as sunset approached, so stupidly, I decided to leave and head home. I made it about a mile down the road when I saw the light changing and the sky lighting up in color. I turned around and raced back to the pier just as the sunset started to peak, and I was able to get these two photos:

4.) This one is a 12 photo HDR Panorama that I'm pretty happy with. Probably going to get it framed or printed on metal in a fairly large size once I come up with an edit that I'm completely satisfied with.

Indeed, that’s the shot I was chasing. But I think I prefer the panorama now.
