Overall, a very strong composition that tells a well defined story. My only reservation is that the walkway on the left has such a large shadow area that is totally black. Some detail would have really helped. This is another area that I would have taken two shot ( I always use a tripod as I do have a tendency to shake), and then created a HDR image but keeping it on the conservative side.

Yep, you're right, but it's a combination of reflection and what's growing out of the shallow water.

Just going into places like that, takes a great deal of fortitude. Who knows who or what lurks in those dark shadows.

Thanks guys! couldn't agree more on Hdr, this sort of place definitely needs it. only problem here is the place has been well sealed for over a year, it used to be accesable with a little effort, now its a nightmare to get to, destroyed my jeans getting in and couldnt take my tripod , therefore no Hdr shots. will need to invest in a good mini tripod!
