Interesting shot, but my first impression is tha tit is very "cluttered" - don't know how else to describe it. I think that maybe it is the bridge that does it in from a compositional perspective, but if you like it, that is really all that counts.

I believe it's a reference to the name of the waterfall in the background. Latourell Falls if I remember correctly. I like it. I think it's a nice idea of a way to photograph the falls in a manner not typically taken. It may be cluttered, but to me it's not distracting...

I wish you'd composed it so that the top railing of the bridge went all the way to the top right corner. That would have been a much stronger comp, IMO. I'm a huge fan of leading lines.

Other than that, it's a great image. Well exposed and focused.

Latourell Falls in the Columbia Gorge. Yes, I'm not in love with the shot to be honest. I think a polarizer could've really helped. It's a timing issue as well. The leaves are pretty much all down, so I was couple weeks late to full fall color here. You can't duplicate the effect of the polarizer in post, no matter how hard you try (i tried ). Hence reflections off ferns and some brighter leaves.

Glad you like it. I like the composition, but feel something is "missing". Just felt the end result would've been a lot better with the right tools in the field. And the right seasonal timing.

Good thought. I've thought of the logistics of this. What you don't see out of frame is even more clutter and distracting. I almost tossed this, but as mentioned by Rx liked the idea of this fall being photographed in a bit of a different way.
