Le Corbusier - Marseille

CC per request. Looks like an unknown link that I will not be clicking any time soon.

It almost works. The top right corner seems to be flopping over into the scene. Correct that and it will be a winner. (The vertical lines need correcting. Now they converge way up top left well off the screen)

Thank you for taking the time to look. About the top corner falling into the scene, is that because of my lens? or is there something else I can do to avoid that happening?

I love this building and I want to get it perfect!

Is there another way I can get the photo from flickr directly onto tpf? I tried using the URL and didnt seem to work...

here are some more if you are interested... any more c&c?!

Your links don't go to flickr, they are going to 'flic.kr' which I will not be visiting.

This should be the pic (note, it's the photo by the OP!)

I am so confused!

does anyone else upload their photos via flickr? is there another way? it used to work...

how did you get the photo to appear?

two people have seen the photo... and two people have a strange link!
what is going on?

Out of all this (which I could see in a deleted post of yours, being a mod)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/ejp13009/5357379723/" title="the side angle by ejp13009, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5004/5357379723_e090e068fe.jpg" width="340" height="500" alt="the side angle" /></a>

... I put the
brackets around the part that I highlighted, for that is the image URL (which starts with http:// and ends in .jpg, make sure image URLs always start and end like that). That will make your photo show.

For me, making use of the Insert-Image-Icon (viewcard symbol) has never worked with links from Flickr, though, I always have to manually write out the IMG-brackets (in the form that I was showing you above). Watch out for blanks between there brackets: there must NOT be any!

Yes it is very common and expected. Perspective control lenes, tilt-shift lenses have been made but they are not, nor is "avoid that happening?" worth discussing now with the digital darkroom. It is worth your time to read however. Perspective control lens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The digital darkroom makes correcting this very very easy. The trick is to avoid the text book approved framing/composition when taking the shot. Rather allow extra knowing that correction and cropping will require extra to snip off. In this case quite a bit extra would be needed and some fussing. Once all the lines are parallel to each other then the corrected shot can be tilted to give the same general look as the original . Except the lines will be parallel. I think it makes such a huge improvement in pleasant quality that it is well worth the time and effort. As stated they even made special lenses in the film days. That was a relative pain in the butt. The digital darkroom is easy by comparison.

WOW! We can all sleep easy now that fokker has told us that he don't want to participate. Apparently you did not go to 'flic.kr' because the link goes to flickr = http://www.flickr.com/photos/ejp13009/5357379723/

The fact that others have been commenting on the links photos may have been a clue that paranoia was not warranted?

You seem to be drawn to architectural themes. For the most part I really like your compositional choices. To make them killer/flawless add the distortion correction and line straightening to your post processing work flow. It makes a huge conscious and sub conscious impact on the final result. Take a look at the "underneath it all" photo and notice how the borders of the photo betray the fact the the lines within the composition are tilted in reference to the borders. Most obvious at the top border. Straightening lines alone takes on an entirely new upscale quality. Then the other option may or may not be chosen that being converging line correction, and other distortions. I like them however. I just have a lot of years of practice noticing the things like I describe.

In Flickr, when you look at the picture, there is a "Share" button. Click on it, in the menu there is an item telling something about HTML/BBcode (I'm looking at the Italian interface, so I do not know how it is worded in English). Choose that, select BBcode, select resolution, copy & paste the code directly here.
