Hey ! So I've been searching online to see if I could fit this lens I have on my Nikon. I've found similar info about them but the specifics of the lens are not exactly the same. From my understanding I don't believe that it will fit, but I was just curious seeing as I haven't found any information regarding that exact lens.

the lens is:
SIGMA ZOOM (has a weird little green mark right after) 1:4~5 f=75~250mm MULTI COATED
.. Would this lens function with my camera, is there a mount adapter available for the two ? I have a Nikon D3100

P.S: Sorry for the iPhone pictures ! ;)

Ummmm....that does not look like a Nikon F-mount lens...so, I do not think you'll have any luck. LUCKILY for you though, the "baby Nikons" in the D40,D40x,D60,D3000,D3100,D3200, and D5000,D5100,and D5200 all can MOUNT and SHOOT with, basically any F-mount lens, regardless of vintage. The "baby Nikons" do not have the AI coupler NOR do they have the minimum aperture sensing pin, so, that allows those cameras to use older "pre-AI" lenses, Ai lenses, AI-S lenses, AI-P, AF, AF-D, and AF-i and AF-s lenses.

The easiest test if a lens will fit on a baby Nikon???? Take a genuine Nikon rear lens cap, and it the cap fits on 100% perfectly...it's an F-mount lens!!! That is an easy way to identify junker lenses at pawn shots and such, where the mount type might not be obvious based on the weird lens names found on many junkers...

I do not think that there is going to be any kind of adapter to help you out with that lens on a NIKON body. I am not sure what mount that lens is in. IS there any clue based on the lens cap???

The funny green emblem is just a lower-case sigma. There are Pentax to Nikon adapters available, but I can't say how well they work or what limitation there may be. Googling "Pentax to Nikon Adapter" shows a few actual products.

Good luck.
