Light painting photography critique/advise

You missed the point. You state directly on your picture unauthorized use is illegal. So is your unauthorized use of someone's property. Whether you are the first or last doesn't matter. Apparently, you expect people to respect your property, when you don't return the favor.

The watermark is there to deter people (I use the illegal scaremongering for my equestrian event photos which used to get stolen left, right and centre) - it wouldn't be hard to edit out if someone cared to use my photo that much. The fence is around building to deter people also. The building among others is to be demolished - if guerrilla photojournalism doesn't happen we are missing out on priceless memories one day. that's how I see it anyway.

I think it could be improved quite a bit by:

  • Cleaning the sky and adding some more blue and removing the magentas.
  • Some perspective correction - straighten up that left hand wall of the building
  • The building does take up a lot of the frame. If you could have got any further back or zoomed out a bit more, the shot could have had a bit more space to make it easier for the viewer to take it all in.

Thanks for genuinely constructive criticism! Just thought I add I was as far back as I could go unfortunately! Right in the corner and shooting with the 24-70/2.8 could really do with a wider angle sometimes.

I'm a HUGE fan of URBEX and abandoned building photography (as long as it's done properly), but to me, the steel wool pretty much kills the shot.
When I get home I'll post a few of the shots I took without the steel wool :)

So here is the Image without the steel wool - which I do quite like as well :)
