Light painting with a 1.25 Watt blue laser

I posted in another thread here about the possibilities of using a 1.25 watt blue laser for light painting.
After receiving some staunch warnings about the power of this laser and how not to burn the International Space Station out of orbit, I did a test. It's been cold, nasty and rainy - and I've not had the opportunity to leave the cover of my back porch - but I found this one interesting. I'll try more experimenting, hopefully this weekend, and post the results here.

Very nice. They use the same one every May in D.C. for Police week.

thats kind of cool, I dont exactly like how it looks like lightning hit the tree but over all I think that is pretty cool

I have a one watt also that I put together from parts. I like experimenting too but as they say not to point it at any planes etc.
Here is one of a small pen laser (not the one watt) and an icelandic spar crystal.
