It's perfectly safe to drive off the side of a mountain..... R-E-A-L-L-Y !
Celebrating it's 25th year. The engineering history, plus the drama of land ownership is worth a google.
If you have ever considered a trip to the BRP (Blue Ridge Parkway), the Linn Cove (~milepost 300)area does offer quite a few options. You've got the villages of Spruce Pines, Little Switzerland, source of the purest quartz in the world, the beauty of Linnville Falls, Grandfather Mountain, several worthy hiking trails with a happy ending and just good local people. The Linn Cove Viaduct Visitor Center in at milepost 304.
I tried hand holding a 5 frame exposure with the intent to merge in PS. Unfortunately, the first attempt that I have viewed was a fail..... (blames it on meds, an early morning bowl and Bloody Mary...... and just being unfit...... oh yeah, the previous night's tequila indulgence). So I took the metered frame and actually did some post work on using Bridge. Woot!

(Yeah.... that's an m4/3 camera)
Thanks for looking. Comments welcomed.
