Technically, I think cropping to a portrait aspect takes out a lot of non-contributing 'stuff'.
His bright shirt could be toned down a bit.
Unfortunately, I don't think this image is very 'interesting' as a photo; a child with headphones and shades. There isn't any context in the photo to bring it some point.

Thanks for the input and suggestions, @The_Traveler ! I like the crop! I'll have to revisit it in LR/PS... Reducing the highlights really brings out the detail in the shirt!
