Little dog

Very cute little dog, but the cut out disturbs me, i had a look over on photo net and one of the regular "top photographers" does exactly the same thing on commercial pet photos, but then duplicates the layer and blurs the edges where the grey fringing occurs and puts some colour flashes to make it look intentional, it works very well but still disturbs me . Is it a manchester terrier btw?
