Saw the Hockney portraits (and one still life, painted when a sitter didn't show up!) at Los Angeles County Museum of Art yesterday. All the portraits are of people in the same chair with the same background. When I saw this man's shirt, I became a stalker. I thought the combination was wonderful. d7200 and the kit 18-55 that came with my d5100.

I don't like their trousers.. (or "paiy'ntz" as you might say in The States?). 5x4 vertical crop IMO, along the edge of his jacket. I like it!
 
If you like Hockney you need to visit this place Salt's Mill, Saltaire, Yorkshire.
I spent several hours there a couple of years ago waiting for my wife who was at a nearby dance workshop. I (the master of the understatement) was impressed.
