Hello all, I'm looking for a decent camera capable of capturing high detail in clouds, but also landscape.

My price range is around $1,000, which I believe should be more than enough for a decent camera to start with.

One of the main things I'm looking for is for the camera to be relatively mobile as stormchasing requires to be able to move with the blink of an eye.

Thanks in advance,

Aleksandr

Pretty much any entry level digital SLR will be fine for what you need, even the cheap 18-55 kit lenses they typically come with are quite capable at landscape type photos. I'd say more important for you would be getting a decent set of filters - specifically a circular polarizer (CPL) and a set of graduated neutral density (GND) filters. GND filters are effectively half dark and half light, which allows you to show a landscape, properly exposed, while still having a properly exposed sky.
