Yeah, it's not really a camouflage suit, more like a 1-piece fishing suit that happens to be green.
Main reason for getting this suit? Simple... Now I can get down in the mud and not ruin any good clothes! :D

I'm still trying to find some good spots close to the water's edge. So far I've found a couple of them on varying heights.
The one I tried for this shoot was a bit on the high side, the camera was probably about half a meter above the water level. I'm hoping to find a few lower ones soon... I've got my eye on a spot that might get me really low, but it might be a bit tricky to get to. :p

So far I am liking the results I'm getting though!

Well believe it or not most camouflage is wasted on animals anyway. Since they are for the most part color blind their eyes don't blend colors together the way ours do - so the minute you start moving you stand out like a sore thumb. Lol

Birds don't fall into the color blind category as a whole. They see color plus some. Camo is a decent idea if photographing up close. Or cover of some sort.

Birds do see colors and have excellent vision, especially turkeys. Thats why hunting turkey camo is a must have.

1. Birds do see color.
2. I'm colorblind so the suit might just as well be brown (ppl tell me it's green though so I think I'm good with green). xD
3. As I said, the suit is mainly so I can crawl through the mud without getting my clothes dirty. :D

Nice job on the photo's

And there is no such thing as too much camo

Some birds not only see color but have more cone types than humans do and can distinguish color metamers that we can't tell the difference between (we are effectively partially colorblind compared to some species of bird)

Now, they still aren't as badass at color vision as the mantis shrimp--which has no fewer than TWELVE cone pigments (compared to our 3) AND has a built in polarizing filter of a higher quality than any manmade optics AND has eyes on stalks that can move and focus independently Mantis shrimp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia But the birds are still are generally superior to humans in eyesight.

It's there, you just can't see him cause he's camouflaged !!!!

Nice shots!! The problem isn't so much the color but a lot of animals are sensitive to UV light. Most clothes, including camo, when washed with household detergents ( whiter whites, brighter colors etc) glow like a neon light to them. If you want your clothes to help hide you, as well as save your good clothes, wash them in UV blocking detergent. I have a couple pairs of field pants that I use when I'm in the woods. The best I found are the waxed cotton with the extra material on the legs. Built like a tank and you could walk thru a thorn patch and not get stuck (much), and the wax make them waterproof.

Hmm... That's actually a pretty good idea. :D

And about the selfie... Wearing the suit usually goes hand in hand with having my tele-lens on the camera. Kind of tricky to make a selfie with that, especially considering we don't have a lot of mirrors in the park in the first place. :p
