Loving 85mm focal length on 1.6X

I just had to say I am shooting more lately with longer focal length , roughly 130mm equiv
In some of my night shots, I am able to go for really interesting shots that would have been impossible otherwise. the sharpness and compression and contrast on canons 85mm F 1.8 is amazing.

Anyone else love this lens?

Yes, I love it too. One of my most used lenses.

(Also using it on a 1.6 crop factor body, but I love it on 35mm too. On the 350D it's pretty close to 135mm (which I love too...) on 35mm.)

I have the Nikkor version and love it. Should really use it more often though.

My daughter does portraiture and this is the lens she uses the most. I have borrowed it a couple of times and it is amazingly sharp.

Nothing new here. The 105mm was well respected for portraits in the film era.

back a few months ago, I had to sell my 85/1.4 to pay rent and I thought I'd hate myself for a while. but oddly, I don't really miss it that much. it's a great lens, but I never had the room for it.. always found myself trying to step back and fit more into the frame.
