A couple of B&W's from my lunchtime walk:

The first is quite nice. The second doesn't say anything to me.

But in the first I feel I would have liked to see the top of the railing in the rear and a lot less of the one right in front. The play of very harsh light and the shadows is nice though, and very fitting a black&white photo! I think...

I agree on the second, I just threw it in since it was the only other BW from that shoot.

WRT the first, I tried composing it a number of ways, including your suggestion and the one I posted was the one I liked best. I'll post the shot that's closer to what you mentioned, if I can find it.

I do like the first and I noticed you mentioned the shot was composed using different angles, but did you include any low viewpoint shots? Maybe two feet off the ground? Just my 2₵.
