I can't see the first one, but the second doesn't work well for me. The photo is technically well done. No blur, the colors and sharpness are nice, but the composition and the angle from which the photo was taken are just not appealing to me. It may be a personal thing, we'll have to wait and see what others say..

@MarkW - Thanks. Yeah, I thought the technical issues were sound, but I had not considered the angle that it was taken at may be unappealing. I liked the idea that it was hanging upside down which I found to be interesting. I also had limited time to shoot as he flew from flower to flower.

Yepp. Welcome to the wonderful world of macro photography. 
You will get hundreds of shots like these, and miss many more hundreds, before you get that one shot that makes your jaw drop. But once you get that shot, it's well worth the wait.
