I was trying to see why the B&W caught my eye and you summed it up. It is the textures.I prefer the B&W as there really is no colors to pop the B&W shows the textures better in my opinion.

Thanks, the color is soft. I may stop by the tree next walk and see if the colors change in the Fall.On this beautiful photo i prefer color..such a pretty soft color
This time of year, end of summer, seeing muted colors at the watershed. End of growing season.I believe I also slightly favor the color. I never was one for dramatic color schemes. I prefer earthy, elegant ones.
I prefer the B&W. The detail is better and the shadows make for a stronger image.
