Very nice. IF I had any critique, it might be #7 flipped into portrait. I just feel there's a lot of flower detail sacrificed for dead space. These are all very nice as is.

Beautiful detail, were you using a macro lens with flash ?

No flash. Nikon 105mm macro lens. I try and go at different times to get a variety of color and light. My favorite time is late dusk when the sun has all but set. This gives the richest color, but there's more pp involved too.

Wow... 8 is off the charts. Have you thought of cloning out the dark spots?

top shots- loving them all. 1,4 and 5 all made my heart flutter

I have thought of it ... however, I'm not sure because it is a "wild" flower, and so making it perfect, without blemishes, somehow feels less authentic, if that makes sense? On the other hand, I did bring this one home and shoot it in an unnatural environment, so maybe it doesn't matter if I clean it up. It is already being idealized in the studio, no?

I'll give it a try and see. Thanks for bringing it up because I had been thinking about it! :)

Great info, thanks !!!!

I picked up the same lens a few weeks ago, As the weather warms up I'll try to put it to good use :)

Am I the only one who thought of The Rolling Stones when looking at #2 ?

And #4 has been nominated for POTM

Fantastic! Hope you enjoy it. I have the 60mm macro, but I prefer the 105mm for macro work. The 60mm is nice because it is light and versatile. But the 105 renders color better and the detail is amazing.
Not sure if you are a Photoshop CC user, but if you are, the new "Camera Shake" sharpen works most excellently with macro. I shoot handheld outdoors, and the lens is heavy, so there can be a little shake. That filter helps eliminate most traces of it.
