Try increasing the contrast and saturation a bit- it helps get rid of the "through glass" look.

I'm curious what type of monitor you are viewing on that would lead you to suggest that ??

A calibrated one. This is the histogram from the second image- it is showing me that you do not have any true blacks which could be fixed by a curves adjustment or a contrast boost. Also, thick glass can effect the saturation of an image which is why I suggested you give it a tiny boost.

Don't mean to be rude but on another forum there was a challenge to edit an image and a dozen members presented a dozen results. In the end we agreed it was simply the difference in monitors. The range was astounding...

I do appreciate you taking the time to comment, a "tiny" adjustment in the second image did make a difference....

Considering the lighting conditions, the limited color of the gorget and the shallow DOF I admit to a quick edit to the raw, it won't go to print.
