Rambo. The first bird to show up each year at my place is a male. I always name the first one Rambo for their amazing strength to battle the forces of nature during migration. Just imagine, so tiny ...

Huh? Not really, the branch in the background shows good exposure and the bird does not looked shadowed to me?

A light application of the shadow/highlights tool in Photoshop will do the trick without compromising the rest of the image. The catch light in the eye is great, but I agree that the throat area needs lightening to bring out the details. Otherwise, a good image of an illusive species.

Thanks, but I'm not smart enough to use photoshop. I do very little post editing. I see many wonderful results, but I won't ever be proficient with that software.

He's a beauty! Funny, I generally get female Ruby throats first.

Rambo - I like your thinking! Their endurance is amazing.
