This has got to be my favourite photo I've seen from you. I agree with the comment above about the soft tones but still with good contrast. The expressions of both subjects are pretty cool, they kind of create a "dialogue"/story. The man's clothing and glasses give the scene a timeless feel. I wonder how the dog's giant tongue fits inside its mouth! And that broken screen... classic.

Made me think of Walker Evans. I might straighten it a little, and possibly add just a little sepia tint, but a really nice image in any case. I would crop only as necessary to straighten it; I like seeing more of the door.

This is one of my favorite photos too, but I didn’t take it. My sister took this of my dad about 35 years ago and she gave me a copy back then. It disappeared but resurfaced this week. Her husband came across it so I scanned it and am sharing it. I always loved it. That was my sister’s dog, “Rufus.”
