This composition took two years + to achieve. The main reason for the long
production time was to find two birds lit in a similar and decent way to built
them on a single illustrative and pleasing way.

The bird on the left is a Mandarin hen and its counterpart Wood duck hen on
the right. Very similar and so difficult to recognise from greater distance. For
the males, the two most flamboyant ducks on any body of water, it is easier.

The differences to remember:
1, the respective colour of the bills, pinkish vs grey
2, characteristic white feathers shapes around the eyes
3, the wider white throat of the Mandarin hen.
4, the Wood duck hen has a yellow ring around its eye.
