Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
This is her 4th (and last) kid and she's never had maternity pics done! She was stiff in front of the camera and had a habit of either smiling very awkwardly, or looking pissed off. And she has skin like mine - very uneven and rough after years of adult acne and I had a hard time smoothing it out without making it look fake, just as I do with pics of myself.

Enough disclaimers. Praise em or tear em up. And... go!

6. Yes, the bow is overdone. But it's awful popular these days. But I will not put a freaking tag on it that says "do not open until..." yawn.

7. The Mixed Opinion Photo from the opinions 101 thread, and I will be trying a BW edit per paige's suggestion, just haven't gotten there yet...

8. And the other photo shot like the Mixed Opinion photo, that I myself like but I know will be a matter of personal taste for some.

9. I asked Katy to "kiss mommy's belly" and she looked at me and said "oh gross. no." So... that didn't happen.

3,6,7,8,9 with 9 a home run. On my iphone now, those five look very nice!!!!

3 is my favorite

some had some limb cutting. I'm guilty of it too!!! But I've been trying to make it a point to look in the viewfinder and composing before pressing that shutter

So funny that she said "oh gross no". Lol. What about the other 2 kids?

Oh snap I don't have the family picture posted. I did get one. She has already gone into labor twice, once at only 24 wks, so she is under strict order to stay home and in bed as much as possible. So I shot on location at her home. Katy was the only one home at the time we took that one. The other two came running in and had about 5 minutes before they had to run out for a play practice, so in those 5 minutes I took about 10 family photos and nobody would sit still or get out of each others' faces (no way, 3 siblings wouldn't cooperate?? say it isn't so....) and here is the best one

her face is way too over processed (looks orange and fake).. its not always about smoothing everything, she knows what her face looks like and all her family and friends knows what her face looks like. If you smooth it to the point her face looks like a cartoon then it will kill her self esteem and its like a constant reminder of "this is what you should look like but your ugly and need major processing" . you should edit it like she is the most beautiful person just the way she is.. . just zoom into the worst spots and make a bit softer, not eliminating everything.
good positioning... :)

To be fair, her makeup was too dark for her skin tone and that was hard, I kept turning her gray trying to fade it. But yeah I was afraid it looked too smooth...

Thanks!

I only remove completely things that aren't normally on them all the time like red bumps or fresh cuts and dirt.

I totally get it. I guess as someone who's extremely self conscious about my face because my skin is soooo terrible from 20 years of acne, it's natural for me to try to clean that up. I have a lot of scars, huge pores & dark red marks. And a 20MP camera picks up every bit of it and it's very noticeable without zooming in. I would not want to showcase my face without a great deal of retouching. But that's my own problem, not hers.

1 2 and 9 for me. Theres something awkward about a handful of these.. I'm guessing from the stiffness you mentioned. I usually try to lighten the mood and get them laughing when they are stiff like that.

I like most of them and as for the awkwardness most pregnant woman don't see themselves as attractive I think you've done a great job on the skin doesn't look to over processed (on iPhone) how many weeks is she typically belly pics are taken as close to the end of the pregnancy as possible maximum bump ;), I'd say job well done if your happy with them and she's happy with it's all gravy ;)

Thanks! She's 30 weeks. I took them now because of her having gone into labor twice already, in case something happens... at least we got them.
