This will be the last mousetrap highspeed shot I post here. Well, for a while anyways, I'm sure folks here are getting tired of them. I wanted to do a christmas themed one, and really liked the way it turned out.

D7000

Sb-600 at 1/8
35mm Nikkor AF-S 1.8

On the full sized original, the DOF really helps show the movement of the candycane remnants. I think this one is getting printed and hung on the wall in the office along with its recent eggy brother.

C&C is encouraged, I can't learn if people in the know don't tell me what I'm doing wrong. :D

And this is for Bram, just because I don't think my illistration in the past post showed just how unprofessional and hastily thrown together this setup is.

Seems to work though!

how did you bulb/remote this and get such a sharp image?

I took the pic in a dark room, the only light was from the flash.

thats an awesome photo, did you use a sound trigger?

Thanks! Nope. Triggered manually. I've been too cheap to spring for the $20 trigger just yet.

It's on the wish list though.

Wear Lens Protection! Very cool shot.

This is pretty cool, and seems easy enough to do.

Question: how did you sync the trap tripping with the flash?

I have a finely tuned organic flash actuator.

My left index finger on the "test" button.

:D

With my flash, in Manual mode, the test function will fire the flash at whatever power I have it set at. Push the button after the trap is tripped and VOILA!

It isnt really an exact science.......
