This one's not quite as 'dark' as some I've done, but a bit 'dark' in spirit, and that's hard to get away from in regard to veristic surrealistic work. There seems to be a narrow margin between fantasy, horror and the dream state I wish to illustrate.
To me, there's not much difference in landscape images produced in rapidly changing light, such as into or out of twilght, sunrise, sunset, etcetera, or visions produced by attempting to illustrate the hallucinations (some would say dreams) experienced while slipping in and out of sleep. One is great relaxation from the other.
