I like MJ but these look OOF. Also what ISO setting did you use?

Details:

#1 - 1/15sec, 1600iso, 70mm, f/4
#2 - 1/50sec, 1600iso, 70mm, f/4
#1 - 1/13sec, 1600iso, 70mm, f/4

I was very poorly lit and my first time shooting something like this (it also made it difficult to focus). I think the first shot was incredibly successful considering. I was lucky as he was standing still like that for a few minutes so I was able to try different settings to capture it.

Got any suggestions for improving? I was actually trying to time my captures when the lights would swing around or light up with the music.

you need to use a faster shutter speed in lighting conditions like that.

Don't be afraid to bump up the ISO to obtain a better shutter speed. Noise doesn't always equal bad image. I think in this case it would have served you better to bump up the ISO to get a faster shutter speed.

I think I tried 3000 but I didn't like how the images were coming out, I can check my library again to see those ones.

Not bad for your first, tough to shoot in those conditions, really tough. I've tried a million times, more fails than makes unfortunately.

#1 could use a straighten.
