Microsoft Exchange E-mail shrinking inbound pics? MS goo-roo's please help

Wasn't sure where to put this thread. I'm frustrated because a few people on my mail distrol asked me "why are your pics coming thumbnail"? I confirmed through others that the problem isn't everyone or close to global.

Then a few more complained and I narrowed it down to those with microsoft exchange mail.

Now I have upgraded my work computer to the latest MS Office pro, and its DOING IT TO ME?

Anyone familiar with a fix? Is it something I can set on my Gmail going out, or is it something I can configure on my exchnage server mail?

I don't have exchange, but if they're the only users that are having trouble, then it's not a problem you can fix on your end. Is it outlook or exchange that's having the problem? Exchange is the server, outlook is the client. If it's a single group, they may auto-resize, but that's unlikely. More than likely it's just a setting in their client to view full size by default. Hope that at least helps a little.

Are you embedding the images or sending them as an attachment? If you are embedding them, they could very well be resized based on the server limitations of Exchange. If you are attaching them, they should not be resized or modified in any way.

Thanks, I'm embedding them. And going from gmail to my work MS Mail client on our exchange server they are super tiny thumbnail. I can't figure it out because even on the work mail I'm seeing the thumbnails on I can find no options in the mail software to end the madness

I admin an older Exchange server with Outlook 2007 clients and I can tell you that the actual Exchange server will just transport what it is told to by the client (with a few exceptions). If you are using Outlook 2010 to send to your list, check the photo re-sizing options in YOUR client.
Excerpt from Technet article, maybe it will help:
[h=4]Photo resize options[/h] The Outlook 2010 options to resize attached photo do not include 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 pixels. If you decide to resize an image, Outlook 2010 uses the largest of the three previously supported choices (1024 x 768). This is by default.

Also, the resize options have been moved to the File tab.

These changes were made to simplify the resize options and make them more discoverable.

I'm sending from my gmail TO my outlook on an exchange server, running 2010 MS mail client. Some folks get the pics right. When I email to myself from gmail to my MS mail, they are thumbnail. many others are having the same problem from me (but not the majority)

Interesting. The only way to find out what's causing it is to do some troubleshooting.

1) As Kerbouchard mentioned, does the same thing happen when you attach the images as files rather than embed them?

2) Do you have the option of not going through Gmail? If so, go through your Outlook client directly.

Of course, you may want to create a distribution list with just one email address on it, yours, during your tests.

You know what, I haven't tried to mail from my Outlook to my Outlook. I'll try that. But still for some my sent gmail works right and for others it doesn't, thats whats driving me totally nuts.
