I could have waited another 30 minutes so the core was higher in the sky, but the skeeters were tearing me up, so I shot this and hightailed it out of there.

Nice shot. This time of year i like to get the shot with the MW as close to the horizon as possible as it quickly moves up and away from any foreground interest. I wouldn’t be out there at night without my alligator proof boots.
