Minolta MC to Sony Alpha (Minolta AF/MA) conversion

I just bought a 50mm f1.4 Minolta MC Rokkor-X lens and was planning on doing a mount change modification using this How to Convert Your Minolta MC Rokkor 58mm f1.2 Lens to Canon EOS Mount tutorial. The only problem is, the tutorial is for a MC to Cannon EOS mount conversion. Does anyone have any experience with mount conversions? I bought the M42 to Sony Alpha mount converter to use for the mount (as told by the tutorial). I chose this method because I don't want to have to use the Minolta MC to Sony Alpha converter with glass because of the loss of light and IQ reduction. I also don't want to use the glass less converter because then I won't be able to focus to infinity? Someone help!
