#2 looks better with the top cropped off.

#1 is pretty soft and washed out.
#2 subject matter doesnt do much for me, but the focus is pretty sharp. still has a bit of flatness to it.
maybe some post play?

They both look really soft...they're either slightly out of focus or suffering from camera shake or motion blur.

How much post processing/photo editing did you do to these? They could use more contrast and sharpening.

It's a good idea to include the shot information and the type of camera used when you post images.
