More bugs....

Stumbled across a few bugs to shoot. First shot here was taken after I was given advice to change/try new camera settings by a fellow member. This shot has very appealing exposure to me.


Bee in a park

Sony A6600 90mm macro f7.1 1/60sec ISO 200 Flash activated with diffuser​

I believe this is a carcass of a Red Dragon Fly nymph. Ants have taken refuge inside the hollow carcass after the dragon fly emerged. If this had been in better focus I think it would have been a great shot.

I think your photographs are godlike. I mean it! They are so good! But I think the editing could bring out more details and remove some stuff that detracts from the rest of the images. Have you used Topaz photo ai with Photoshop? Great programs both of them.

Woolsocks...so I decided to make some adjustments to the bee picture. I think you were right in that it needed a bit of burst in the color. A tad flat perhaps the way it was.

. I'm not sure from what. Your flash if you used one. A light from somewhere else in the world. A casted shadow from a leaf or a stalk or something. There is a weird blue egg shape object. I cloned it out. I left a little bit of the blue stuff on the side. But I really didn't think it should be on top of the compound eye. If this is flower pollen and it's normal then LOL I don't know what to say.

Where do you see a "weird blue egg shape object"? If you are referring to the oval highlight in the eye, that is normal and is a reflection of the diffuser. Any reflecting surface will show that highlight, in different shapes. You see it in the legs and the edge of the wing too in this pic. The color looks nearly white on my monitor.

You say it's normal with a flash and diffuser, but it's not natural.

I replied that he could get it sharper. And then I told him he could do it with two programs.

So you want me to believe that your monitor does not show a difference between the before and after image?

There is no halo. Sharpening brightens the pixels. Literally. To much sharpening creates halo's around objects. Do you see any? I don't. In fact I see a massive difference between the before and after. BUT ONLY IN TERMS OF EDITING. Everything else is his doing.

I hope I don't come across as defending myself. I only wanted to make myself clear.

But if I did not make myself clear then who would take me seriously next time.
