More Randomness, from the last week.

just going through and editing some of my photos from the last week

1) I call "the chase", not good quality but somewhat interesting...

2) Egret fishing, you may have seen the others from this series in a post I made, but this one was the first, a split second after he got the fish, I really love the lighting in this one

3) Just an egret in flight

4) Redheaded wood pecker

5) A Heron with a fish stabbed in his bill

6) A vulture spreading...

7) Not a good photos as far as quality but thought it was interesting, the juvi eagle is probably very angry the other wanted to join the party... LOL

Wow, these are all really nice, matthew. I especially love the egret fishing and the redheaded woodpecker. I have yet to catch the woodpeckers that close to me and I don't have any redheaded or pileated ones anyway.

thank you. the redheaded woodpecker was about the closest I have been to one, up at the top of a small dead tree, the angle actually looks more eye level then it is, I was probably about 10 feet down from him and maybe 10 - 20 out. cropped a bit with the 300mm 2.8 with a 2x extender at f8

I have not yet got a good photo of a pileated, but I did get within about 15-20 feet of a pileated at eye level, but it was in such heavy brush I couldn't get a good photo, I was just amazed that it didn't fly off, and was just hopping from tree to tree with me so close. I have a lot of downy and sap suckers around here, but I don't see to many of the full redheads like above, I probably have only seen about 3 or 4

this one was from today, was a nasty day, but I thought it made and interesting photo, this was just shot out the window of my car when I pulled over and saw this egret

here is another out the window of a car photo from yesterday, saw this guy on a power line so I whipped a U turn and pulled over and got a photo. evil look huh, haha

I really like #1. Just such an unusual shot it really caught my eye. #5 is very cool too. You pulled off a great shot with a difficult background! Very nice.
