The world has gone Swallow mad I tell ya :) :). So out in the wild I'm seeing a lot of boxes / houses for birds, is that common up there ?? Interesting idea and makes life a little easier, interesting idea for sure.

Nice shot that first one and really like the colours on that. Great BIF, I call them bombers, they remind me of a bomber is all, fighter pilot works as well ;) That Warbler just poking its head out really appeals, darn cute shot. Beautiful bird and wonderful bright yellow.

All the best and nice work on the flying bullet.

Danny.

Thanks all! I really liked the warbler, even though it's technically not a good "bird" shot. They are adorable little birds.

Danny, these photos (and my other swallow ones) were taken in two different bird sanctuaries in my city. People really get down on Hamilton as it's historically a heavy manufacturing town, and still has many, many steel factories along the waterfront. But it's also got an incredible amount of natural space, conservation areas, and species reclamation. The swallow nest boxes in the two sanctuaries have done remarkable things for the population, and there are also a few bluebird rehab areas that are incredible. We've got three pairs of nesting Peregrine falcons that are monitored, and an active bald eagle nest. The city nestles these wild spaces in even the most industrialized areas (these pictures in this thread, you can smell the bread factory right across the field). The other sanctuary is here:

Nearly all of the woodsy, creek, wild-like pictures I show here are shot within city limits. It's a wonderful place to live.

Very interesting info. Great to know and see a shot of the area. one spot I shoot at is surrounded by houses so I need to be careful of the out of focus backgrounds. Thanks for that, appreciate it and always interesting to see where others shoot, area wise.

All the best Mel and good shots of those Swallows, I love them !! ;)

Danny.
