Sheffield, Tasmania, is called The Town of Murals
Each year it has a competition with a theme, often described in a poem
It started from some talented artists painting wall murals on buildings depicting early life in Kentish or Kentisbury as once known
Then the idea of a muralfest sprung up and unfortunately we seemed to lose the expansion of our historic ones
Here's a few, I've literally hundreds over the years
This is Mural Park where each yearly event is held

I've plenty more, not sure how many to post at once

G'day Richard

Another beaut post from you for us to enjoy
Q- do the murals stay there forever, or are they replaced next year by another batch of entries??

ps- you ask about images ... I usually stop at 5 images per post if I have more then one for the topic
Phil

There are some very talented street artists, there are more and more places where you can find sort of art....

Thanks Phil
Each year they get taken down (as they just have been) and stored, somewhere (bit hazy on this part)
Then new boards erected waiting for muralfest start in about 3 weeks

Some are sold so go to new owner.
They auction them off. No idea what going rate is, but did see one today with $1000 on it
You see them dotted about in people's yards

Thanks. 5 will do me.

I wish all local authorities were as forward looking as is clearly the case in Sheffield. I enjoyed these.

Nice shots.
