Hiya ///Matt, welcome to ThePhotoForum.
Unfortunately I am not that much into car photography, but I like the first one here for I like the location where you took it and think that the ceiling looks good there! :D

I prefer the first to the second also because of the side light (which is direct light from the angle you took up to take the second).

BMW is cool (I drive one).

=)

I agree about the second, but I thought it was still worth posting, if just for critique.

I like both a lot, but i'm a car person so that could have something to do with it. the headlights being on in #1 really makes the picture for me

First off, let me clean the drool of my keyboard.

There.

I so love the colour of your car...

As of your shots, great exposure, it's nice and crisp. Looking at the 1st pic, the angle of the car is a bit too sharp. You want to see a bit more of the side of the car. The roof rafters have way too much shadow, I really like the use of them in the 2nd shot but it doesn't do much for me in the 1st shot.

Thanks kyle!

I agree about the angle in the first pic, but I wanted the halo rings in the headlight to show, and they have a very shallow viewing angle. If I moved over more, they faded. =(

As for the shadows, I liked the way it came out in editing with the dark roof shadows. I thought it made it sort of mysterious... But I can see where you're coming from, I usually don't like black shadows. That's why I didn't use them in the second.

Good photos and impressive car… nothing else and nothing less than a BMW of series 3. It seems that the photos have a little noise… you had a high ISO? I like the surroundings chosen for these photos
Greetings from Spain.

I was not using an optimum ISO, but I think the noise was introduced by my editing. I was very new to photoshop when I edited these two. I suppose I could always try to run them through Noise Ninja again...

Matt, what kind of light source did you use? I tried to see it in the reflection of the second picture, but I couldn't make it out.

It's the overhead lighting in that particular parking garage. One light had a blue green tint, the other qutie orange. =)

Test doing the photos with tripod, and a value f/10 for example… and the minimum value ISO that your camera allows. Surely that will leave still better. It enjoys your car.
Greetings from Spain.

I was on a tripod. unfortunately, my camera will only reach f8.0. =(
I will have to try this shot again when I upgrade cameras.
